Meet Josh

Founder, strength and conditioning coach, personal trainer, and professional biomechanics nerd

Josh Clark is a recovering entrepreneur and workaholic from Washington DC. He was the CTO of a data science startup until realizing that helping people live their lives doing the things that they love to do is infinitely more rewarding. Now, as a personal trainer in Denver, Josh brings the obsession of his past life; he read 5800 pages of textbooks on biomechanics and physiology in 2019 and has no plans to slow down until he’s at the top of his field.

Many trainers tell gallant stories of hardship and redemption; they used to hurt sometimes and now can run up and down mountains with backpacks full of rocks. Josh’s story is still evolving. It’s a story of many lessons learned and hardships overcome, but as with anything he approaches, optimal is a theoretical concept to iterate towards rather than a one-size-fits-all. Everyone gets better by doing what works best for them.

In 2017, he underwent hip surgery after 16 years of competitive martial arts with five years of MMA. That surgery awoke an autoimmune disease that caused chronic pain and disability. Not to be deterred, he sought out every medical professional (including trialing over 30 physical therapists) and realized that the problem in our system is that no one communicates or takes a multi-system approach to problem-solving. This is what he works daily to overcome, both in his own care and with his clients.

If you want to move without pain or perform better, Josh is the person you want to see. He will work relentlessly to help you achieve your goals, no matter how many people have told you it’s not possible, or that you’ll have to settle for just being in pain sometimes. With his solution-oriented approach, Josh will help you navigate your body and health.
